Winter in Mount Dora is a beautiful time of year. The temperatures are mild and the weather is perfect for being outdoors. There are many fun outdoor activities to enjoy in this area, and we would like to share some of our favorites with you. Hiking, fishing, going to the flea market, kayaking, and u-pick farms are all great options for spending some time outdoors this winter. We highly recommend taking advantage of the wonderful weather and enjoying everything that Mount Dora has to offer!

If you are looking for a fun and active way to spend some time outdoors this winter, we highly recommend hiking in Mount Dora. Mount Dora is a beautiful area with many trails to explore. The trails are well-maintained and offer great views of the surrounding area. One of our favorites is Hidden Waters Nature Preserve in Eustis.
There is something for everyone, whether you are looking for a short walk or an all-day hike. Mount Dora is home to the Mount Dora Area Hiking Club, which organizes regular hikes and maintains many of these trails. It’s easy to see why this is true when you take a hike in the area. Renninger's Farmer and Flea Market
If you are looking for a more relaxing activity, we recommend going to the flea market on Renninger’s Mount Dora Antique Center. This is a great place to pick up some unique items at bargain prices! The flea market is open every weekend, so there are always new things to see and do.
Go Fishing on the Harris Chain of Lakes
If fishing is more your thing, Mount Dora has plenty of options for you as well. There are many beautiful lakes and rivers in the area that are great for fishing. Check out the Harris Chain of Lakes or some of our spring-fed lakes for some of the areas best fishing. You can find a variety of fish including bass, catfish, and trout. There are also many fishing tournaments held in Mount Dora throughout the year.
The Mount Dora Area Chamber of Commerce hosts the annual Mount Dora Fishing Tournament each spring, which is a great opportunity to catch some fish and support local businesses.

If you are looking for something more relaxing, we recommend taking a trip to one of Mount Dora’s u-pick farms. There are several farms in the area that offer a variety of produce, and it’s a great way to get some fresh air and enjoy the beautiful scenery. The temperatures are perfect and you will find availability for renting kayaks. This makes it a great spot for people who want to try out kayaking for the first time since it is less crowded than some other Central Florida areas.
Make sure to plan for a picnic! Mount Dora has many parks with breathtaking views of Lake Harris that are ideal for picnics or enjoying some sunshine while you’re on shore.
