Lake County has one of the best clusters of u-pick farms in Central Florida, and there's something in season here almost year-round. Blueberries and strawberries kick things off in late winter and spring, peaches and blackberries follow into early summer, and by fall the pumpkin patches, corn mazes, and sunflower fields take over.
This guide covers the u-pick farms around Mount Dora, Eustis, Sorrento, Groveland, and the surrounding area, organized by what's usually in season. If you're headed out for pumpkins or a fall festival specifically, jump down to that section or check our full 2026 Fall Events guide for exact dates.

Common Questions
When is the best time to go u-pick in Lake County?
It depends what you're after. Strawberries and citrus run through winter, blueberries and peaches peak in spring, blackberries follow into early summer, and fall belongs to pumpkins, sunflowers, and corn mazes. There's rarely a month with nothing in season somewhere in the county.
Do I need to bring my own containers?
Most of the larger farms, like Great Scott Farms and Amber Brooke Farms, provide buckets or boxes and charge by weight or by container. Smaller specialty farms vary, so it's worth asking when you call ahead.
Are these farms good for kids and families?
The larger farms build their fall festivals around family activities, including play areas, hayrides, and petting zoos, alongside the actual picking. The smaller specialty farms tend to be quieter and more focused on the fruit itself, which some visitors prefer.
Do prices change during the season?
Yes. Pricing at u-pick farms is typically set per pound or per container and can shift as a crop comes in heavier or lighter than usual. Farm websites and Facebook pages are the most reliable place to check current pricing before you go.
Can I just show up, or do I need a reservation?
The bigger farms generally welcome walk-ins during open hours, though weekends and festival days can get busy. A few of the smaller specialty farms operate by appointment only, so check ahead for those.
