If you have followed the blog for any amount of time you have heard me rave about the Tilquist brothers’ two Eustis restaurants, Tillies Tavern and the El Marie Pizza. In a short amount of time they have become an integral part of the downtown Eustis landscape. So, when the brothers announced they planned to open their third restaurant, a seafood house, I was SO excited! Delicious seafood is something that I feel our area has lacked, and I knew the brothers would only open a seafood spot if they could promise that it would become the best around.

The day finally came to try out CJ’s and my family and I were so excited! We knew being a new restaurant that there were still kinks likely being worked out, but we were willing to give it a shot to try the food I had already heard rave reviews about.
For appetizers we chose Cod Nuggets and Bacon-wrapped stuffed jalapeños- we were so happy with these! We enjoyed a couple of drinks and our server, Katrina, made sure we were always happy and taken care of while we waited for the rest of our food.
For my meal, I chose the blackened Mahi and was extremely happy with that as well. The inviting interior, complete with bright colors and lighting that reminds you of a beachside town, finishes off the great atmosphere of this restaurant.

I can’t wait to watch CJ’s become a staple of downtown Eustis just like its sister restaurants have! Have you tried out CJ’s? Let us know what you think!
I have been at least 6 times now. I love it!
Happy to hear you love it too!
The food and atmosphere are excellent! I’ve been there 3 times and been happy every time. Might I suggest their fish dip or the steamed shrimp and sausage platter? Oh what am I saying? Everything I have had there was excellent. Going back again soon.
Thanks for the suggestions! We’ll definitely give those a try on our next visit…which will be sooner than later.
