Do you love to read? Do you wish you could find a book that would spark your interest? Do you dislike book clubs because you may not enjoy rehashing what you just read or because you want to read different things? Literary Society is for you.
In Literary Society, book lovers get together and discuss whatever they are reading. They compare notes, make lists of new titles to try, and encourage each other to break out of reading ruts.
New members are asked to share with the group three books they love, one book they hate, and what they are reading now. There are bingo cards to challenge you to try something new, but all readers (and books) are welcome.
This new kind of literary discussion group (just don’t call it “book club”) was inspired by the literary society in the novel “The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society.” The first chapter was founded in Mt. Dora by Tiffany Patterson and has been featured in the “What Should I Read Next” podcast episode # 166. https://modernmrsdarcy.com/166-episode/ .
Please practice social distancing and wear a mask whenever possible. Do not attend if you are sick.
