For our hot spot this week, we are going off the beaten path…literally!
How do you find balance in your life? Exercise, meditation? I have found I’m the happiest version of myself when I spend time in nature and quiet the noise in my head. It isn’t always easy to find that time but I am better at all my roles in life when I do.
It’s easy to get caught up in the day-to-day grind. When life gets crazy I like to drop by Hidden Waters Preserve. If you’ve never been to Hidden Waters you will be absolutely amazed by this hidden gem. It’s possible you have driven past a hundred times and never noticed that it existed. The 90-acre sinkhole has six trails that range from .2 miles to 1.5 miles. The trails lead you on a downward slope to the marshy lake in the center. For details of each trail, check out this page from the Lake County Water Authority. My personal favorite is the Ravine Trail (red). This trail travels along a creek that runs to the sink. The old sink is tucked away between Abrams Rd. and Country Club Rd. in Eustis. The trails are open from sun up to sundown.
